Open Use Computer Labs

Overview

USF’s Tampa campus houses open-use computer labs, as well as classroom /instructional computer labs. The computers have a consistent configuration across all locations; comprised of Windows OS, and all USF licensed academic /instructional software used by the colleges.

Open Use Locations & Hardware

Information Technology supports computer labs on the Tampa campus. The computers in the open-use labs are available for use by active students, staff, faculty, and retired faculty with a valid USF ID card. In addition, each of the open-use labs is equipped with at least one workstation dedicated to users requiring Assistive Technology, i.e. ZoomText, Dragon Naturally Speaking, etc.

Hours
(Same as Library hours)
Monday - Thursday: Open 24 hours
Friday :      Closes at 6pm
Saturday : 10am-6pm
Sunday :    Opens at 12pm

Our hours will be modified during holidays/breaks and during the summer. Please check Library website for more details.

Hardware

187 Windows-powered workstations featuring the most commonly used applications on campus.

Software

Workstations have the most commonly used applications on campus. To request additional software in instructional labs, visit our Lab and Software Request Form. These requests must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the date the software is required.

Specialty Equipment

  • 11 Speed Print stations
  • 8 Multi-function color scanner/copier/printers (black and white printing 11¢ a page, color printing 22¢ page)
  • Two wheelchair accessible machines

Reserve a Lab

College of Education Lab

Education has 3 labs faculty are able to reserve:

  • EDU 159  -  22 PCs
  • EDU 213  -  25 PCs
  • EDU 417  -  29 PCs

To reserve a lab, please contact <contact email to be added> Computer Lab Manager to place your request.

College of Arts & Sciences Lab

The College of Arts & Sciences has 3 labs faculty are able to reserve:

  • CPR 121  -  30 PCs
  • CMC 209  -  23 PCs
