Power BI gateway is a piece of software that runs on an Azure VM and is used as a management software for controlling access to various data sources, and enables teams to publish and refresh reports that they develop. The IT Analytics team is implementing the Power BI Gateways gateways as part of an enterprise-wide solution for reporting, which will allow that departments to publish and refresh reports that they develop. These gateways will be maintained by the Analytics team. The gateway software is installed on Azure VMs. We suggest each department have these accounts set up, prior to reaching out to Analytics for the gateway setupand non-Analytics IT teams can use this software as a service, instead of having to invest in setting up their own infrastructure.

Once the account is created and you have the user name and password, please submit a Jira HELP ticket to the Analytics team (Service Team: Analytics), which we will then prioritize and contact the respective department/team to set up a meeting and set up the gateway.
During the meeting while the gateway is being set up, you will be required to enter the password for each data source.
We will set up a couple of people from the department as the admins of the gateway and also add members from that team as report developers.
