Overview:

The Student Information System (SIS) reports ) are currently available in the SAP platform. There is a project that has begun underway to rebuild convert these reports in to a new, modern
reporting platform that is accessible to approved users, better integrates with other products at USF, and decreases maintenance. This project is beginning to pick up momentum. The , and the end-user community can is asked to lend their valuable expertise and input to ensuring ensure that the converted reports meet the end-users' expectationsreturn the same results as those in the SAP enviorment.

The following is a recap as it relates to the number of SIS reportsreports are being converted by a consulting group hired by USF’s IT.

Number of Reports:

  • Number of reports (as of 2/1/2024): 386

  • Retire Number of reports retired (as of 4/26/24): 71

  • Number of reports to be converted: 315


The reports are being converted by a consulting group hired by USF’s IT unit.The ODS-APOR team has analyzed the reports to determine the priority of the conversion and have created a spreadsheet that will be used for the sign up. End users are being asked by end users to volunteer to test the converted reports. The steps are outlined below.

User Acceptance Testing:

  2. In the top right, click on the “Open” button and select “Microsoft Excel Online” in order to edit the spreadsheet (image below).

. The first 50 reports are the reports that the consultants will begin to
develop in the new environment. Once the first 50 reports have volunteer testers, the next 50
reports will be opened for end users to volunteer.

Items to Note:

  1. Once end users have volunteered to test reports, a SIS Reports Conversion UAT Teams channel
    will be set up. The channel will be used for communication while testing and be monitored by
    ODS-APOR.

  2. Once the first 50 reports have associated volunteers, the next 50 reports will be open for end
    users to volunteer.

  3. The consulting group will communicate via email when the report is ready for testing. The volunteer tester will have 15 business days to review the converted report and respond to accept or not accept the report. However if you are unable to review the converted report in that time frametimeframe, please respond to the consultants consultant's email within 5 business days of when you will be able to review the converted report. Please respond within five business days on whether the report is correct and may be approved for sign off. If you are unable to test the report within five business days, please respond within that timeframe of when you will be able to test the reports.

  4. More than one person may volunteer to test a report. There are three columns for testers (Tester
    1, Tester 2, Tester 3).

  5. If there are no volunteers for a report, it will be moved to the bottom of the priority list. During
    the processes, if no one volunteers to test the report, it will not be converted to the new
    environment.
