Intensive Executive Format

Starting Fall 2017, the PhD Program in Nursing Science will follow an intensive, executive format to prepare students as a nursing scientist.

  • Flexibility: The coursework combines face-to-face meetings a few times per year with asynchronous web-based sessions.
  • Meeting Dates: Listed below are the in-class meeting dates for knowledge building core PhD courses in the 2017-2018 academic year (courses NGR 7813 and NGR 7814 will follow the traditional calendar in Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 respectively).

The first hour of the first meeting date every semester will serve as the PhD program orientation for new and returning students (e.g. 8:00 am, Monday, August 21). Individual course meeting times will be distributed at orientation.

Note: Students enrolled in Scientific Inquiry Forum are expected to attend class every Friday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm either in person or via the faculty-designated web application.
