One or more Arun Kulkarni Awards are made each year to support the travel expenses of a graduate student in the department of EOH to attend a conference, in order to present on research progress and results from their EOH degree program. Applications are announced to the student body by email in the spring and an application form is required.

Florida Environmental Health Association accepts applications for FEHA Scholarships of $500 minimum from students whose course of study must be in pursuit of a scientific discipline that relates to a career in environmental health and/or public health. titleGraduate Assistantships

Assists a faculty member with a graduate level class.Typically includes a 9(fall/spring) or 6 (summer)-hour in-state tuition waiver, 10-20 hours per week. Assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or better in their upper division coursework, must be degree-seeking and enrolled full time.

Initially do not typically include a tuition waiver, 10-20 hours per week. Applicants should have an understanding of the scientific principles related to faculty’s research projects; prior research experience is an advantage. titleInternational Academic Development Scholarship

This scholarship is intended to assist degree seeking College of Public Health students who plan to travel abroad with a clear purpose to increase: (1) Training in specific methodologies to improve professional and academic development, (2) Improving proficiencies and skills in an academic discipline as endorsed by a faculty advisor, or (3) Increasing cross-cultural competencies which apply to a specific aspect of the students’ academic program. This will be awarded on a competitive basis and will range from $500-$2000. This application must be submitted at the start of the academic semester for which they are seeking scholarship funds. titleInternational Field Experience Scholarship

This scholarship is intended to assist degree seeking College of Public Health students who plan to do an International Field Experience. This will be awarded on a competitive basis and to be used to help defray the airfare and insurance costs associated with the IFE. This application must be submitted prior to leaving for the Field Experience in order to take effect. This program is administered through the College of Public Health Office of International Programs.

titleInternational Student Book Scholarship

The College of Public Health International Student Book Scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to qualified international students as they pursue their graduate education at USF. Awards are for $250 per semester, and students can receive the scholarship each semester in which they meet the eligibility requirements.

  • Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the term that the scholarship is requested
  • Students must be enrolled for a minimum of 9 credit hours in the term that the scholarship is requested.

titleLee Leavengood Senior Program Endowed Scholarship

This annual scholarship is given to one or two students who have an interest in the field of aging. The amount of this scholarship varies annually. Applications are announced to the student body by email in the spring and an application form with essay is required.

titleMaternal and Child Health Epidemiology Traineeships

This traineeship is intended for doctoral students who are planning a career in MCH Epidemiology, with a focus on addressing health disparities in maternal and child health. The traineeship will provide funding for students who otherwise may not be able to take the courses needed in MCH epidemiology due to financial constraints. titleMaternal and Child Health Leadership Training Program

Each year, a small group of Maternal and Child Health Master’s and Doctoral students will be selected as MCH Trainees. Trainees will complete a special enhanced curriculum in addition to regular coursework; will have special training opportunities in cultural competence, family-centered care, and interdisciplinary practice; and will be working closely with MCH faculty mentors, community agencies, and advisors throughout the traineeship. Students selected as trainees will receive full-time tuition waivers for 3 semesters, a stipend, travel support to conferences, and individualized mentoring. The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health offers traineeships to accepted students in the Industrial Hygiene/Safety Management program.
