The USF College of Public Health DrPH degree is completed through distance‐learning (fall, spring, and summer semesters) in addition to on‐campus learning via the DrPH Institutes. The combination of program delivery formats allows working professionals to broaden their grasp of public health management, practice, and research without interrupting their careers.

We are now offering the DrPH Institutes in Fall There are three mandatory on-campus Institutes during the first two years of the program, which align with required classesThese Institutes will be held in the Fall 1 (Institute 1), and Summer 1 (Institutes Institute 2), and Summer 2 (Institute 3) . This will allow you to complete the coursework in two years. You can take longer and spread out the Institutes, as long as you meet USF enrollment requirements (see below).

  • PHC 7103: Transforming Public Health Practice (3 credits); CRN=92409
  • PHC 7149: Practical Applications 2: Public Health Leadership (1 credit); CRN=94590

PHC 7103 will have online work throughout the semester, with the institute as one module in the course. PHC 7149 will have some pre-work shortly before the institute, and some final work due after the institute, but will not run all semester.

terms. Institutes are five days long and will occur at the USF Tampa campus. In addition to the on-campus meetings, students are required to complete work before and after the institutes. Institute dates are announced 6 months prior via email. Students unable to attend an Institute during the scheduled times, will be required to take those classes the following year.  

Students are responsible for their travel arrangements for each Institute, to include lodging, transportation, and food. The area around campus offers a variety of options.

In order to park on campus, you must have a parking permit. To purchase this permit, get additional information on parking, or to see the campus map for directions, go to the Parking and Transportation website at: http://www.usf.edu/administrative-services/parking/. You can buy a daily pass at the Visitor's Center or purchase a pass and utilize pay spaces (there is machine to buy the passes in the COPH parking lot).
