Overview

This article will help guide you through locating your computer name. This is important for remote access use.

Windows 

For Windows 7

1. Hit the Windows key on your keyboard 
2. Type computer name in the search field that comes up
3. Hit the Enter button on your keyboard
4. Click See the name of this computer.
   The name is displayed in the Full Computer Name field

For Windows 8/8.1/10

1. Hit the Windows key on your keyboard 
2. Type computer
3. Right-click on This PC 
4. Select Properties
   The name is displayed in the PC/Computer name field.

Mac

1.  Select System Preferences
2. Click on the Sharing pane.
3. Your computer name is listed at the top of the new window.
