The Maternal and Child Health-Epidemiology concentration is a professional degree intended for individuals who want to pursue public health research and practice focused on the outcomes, determinants and health policies and programs impacting the health and well-being of women, children and families. The knowledge and skills obtained through the concentration will enable graduates to characterize the health status of culturally diverse and underserved communities, critically evaluate research on determinants of health-related events, formulate strategies to evaluate the impact of health-related interventions and apply epidemiologic methods for health promotion/disease prevention activities.
