The computing and network facilities in the various colleges are a vital component of the academic environment. Each person using these computers must be considerate of other users. The purpose of these facilities is the support of teaching and research by its authorized users. By using USF network facilities, you agree to the terms of use.

USF Safe

USF Safe Messenger is part of USF's Emergency Notification System (ENS). It was established to notify the community in the event of a campus emergency. The service is free; however, standard text messaging rates may apply.

Network Address Translation (NAT) and private addressing has been implemented for our open-use networks, including the Residence Halls and Wireless Networks. This technology allows several computers to share one public Internet address at the same time.

Wired & Wireless Communications

USF has a computer network that covers practically the entirety of the campus, with almost all buildings having fiber optic cable into wiring centers to allow for high-speed connections to the redundant, double-starred 10 Gigabit per second campus backbone. The wireless service is provided free of charge to USF students, faculty, and staff.
