AppWorx Documentation System (Production)

Overview

The AppWorx Documentation System contains documentation for AppWorx "Jobs". The Job documentation gives an overview of the Job's purpose, steps, and other technical information. Chains and Modules are AppWorx objects associated with a Job. Basically, Chains and Modules are steps in the Job. In the AppWorx Documentation System the Job acts like a parent in that each Job has a child object (Chain or Module). This child object is either scheduled to run or ran manually in AppWorx.

A Chain contains a set of steps, which can be any combination of Chains and/or Modules. These steps are the Chain's child objects. A Module is a single step; therefore, it does not have any child objects.

The UC4 Software company changed the name of AppWorx to Applications Manager. When this occurred UC4 also changed the name Chain to Process and the name Module to Job. This change caused confusion for AppWorx Document System users, since the name Job was already in use as the top level in the documentation hierarchy. In an effort to keep things simple, the name AppWorx Documentation System was retained, and the names Chain and Module were also retained. However, keep in mind that in Applications Manager you will see Processes and Jobs, not Chains and Modules.

Production instance: The AppWorx Documentation System does not use single sign-on (NetID): therefore, to access the application, you must log-in with your REPO database user ID.
