How to Locate your Computer Name

Windows 

For Windows 10 

  1. Hit the Windows key on your keyboard 

  2. Type computer

  3. Right-click on This PC 

  4. Select Properties
    The name is displayed in the PC/Computer name field.

For Windows 11

  1. Hit the Windows key on your keyboard 

  2. Type about.
    The name will be displayed at the top .

If you are NOT able to log into the computer you can still check the computer name. From the login screen, opt to login as Other User. Inputting ".\" in the User Name field will display the name of the computer directly below the Password field.  

Mac

  1.  Select System Preferences

  2. Click on the Sharing pane.

  3. Your computer name is listed at the top of the new window.
