RC Services

Services

We provide support for advanced computing needs of the USF research community. Our primary avenue of support is through the IT service desk system.

Research computing maintains the CIRCE cluster. This system is currently being upgraded to 6000 cores. It uses a Lustre parallel file system for fast IO, and Infiniband for a computational interconnect. The file systems on the cluster are available for remote mounting via several protocols to aid in data movement. USF affiliates can see more details on our Research Computing Wiki.

Software Support

Research Computing will install and maintain software for any researcher at USF on the CIRCE Research Computing Cluster. If the software is open source or freely available, we will simply need to be informed of where it can be downloaded. Licenses for software that are not part of the USF supplied software packages are the responsibility of the researcher, but Research Computing will install and maintain the software for the researcher.  Please contact IT Support for information about local desktop installations.

Training and User Support

Research Computing hosts a biweekly user group meeting that can be an informative session if you have questions about resources, or if you want to network with other users.
