Starting on September 1, 2023, new Customer Insights - Journeys customers receive real-time journeys features only. For more information, see Default real-time journeys installation. Many documentation pages currently refer to outbound features that may not be available or may work differently in real-time journeys. The documentation content is being updated to note whether it applies to real-time journeys or outbound marketing.

Outbound Marketing vs. Real-Time Marketing

Outbound Marketing

  • Segments

    • Live View (filter) of contacts

    • Runs automatically approximately every 10 minutes

    • Can be static or dynamics

  • Marketing Email

  • Customer Journey

    • Left to right workflow with little to no deviation

 

Real-Time Marketing

  • Triggers

    • Captures a contact on some “event”

      • Application Decision Code is updated

      • Contact registers for an event

    • Can trigger based off a specific 1:N record (e.g. opportunity)

  • Email (not Marketing Email!)

  • Journey (not Customer Journey!)

    • Top down workflow with ability to create many branches and conditions
