Chrome v.142 and USF websites Issue

Overview

Some users on the USF network may see a new pop-up when visiting a USF site in Chrome. This occurs due to Google’s recent update to Chrome version 142.

USF recommends selecting ALLOW when this pop-up appears. Choosing Block may cause issues accessing USF websites.

Here you’ll find instructions for reversing the Block setting in Chrome.

  1. Navigate to Settings in Chrome.

  2. Select Privacy and security located in the left column.

  3. Select Site settings.

  4. Select Additional permissions.

  5. Select Local network access.

  6. Under Customized behaviors, find any listed USF site. Click the three dots to the right of the site.

  7. Select Remove.

  8. Next to Allowed to connect to any device on your local network, select ADD.

  9. Enter https://[*.]usf.edu into the Site field and select Add.

  10. Verify the correct information was added.

  11. Close and restart Chrome.
