📋 Overview
Common Data Set is a voluntary submission to a shared set of data for universities throughout the United States. Much of the data is used by other areas for rankings, etc. The UPSA team within ODS collects data from many areas in USF including student data from our SSRA team in ODS. This project will automate the data collection process by providing a dashboard and reports for UPSA to retrieve the needed student data and to ensure the accuracy of the data.
📆 Timeline
There is no specific deadline for the Common Data Set submissions, however, USF would prefer to have this submitted before large corporations, such as US News & World Report, use the data for rankings. This usually occurs early in the spring term. In 2025, the automation was completed to submit to CDS by February 19, 2025.

Accomplishments
A comprehensive PowerBI dashboard was created by SSRA to provide UPSA with the needed student data.
Risks
Previous risks of having inconsistent student data were a concern before this automation. Now that SSRA is providing vetted data and UPSA is examining prior trends, the data is felt to be more accurate and stable.
