Overview

The AppWorx Documentation System contains documentation for AppWorx "Jobs". The Job documentation gives an overview of the Job's purpose. Chains and Modules are the AppWorx objects associated with a Job. Basically, Chains and Modules are steps in the Job. In the AppWorx Documentation System the Job acts like a parent in that each Job has a child object (a Chain or Module). This child object is what is either scheduled to run in AppWorx or is ran manually in AppWorx.

A Chain contains a set of steps, which can be  any combination of Chains and/or Modules. They are the child objects to the Chain. A Modules is a single step; therefore, it does not have any child objects.

The UC4 Software company renamed the AppWorx application Applications Manager. When this occurred UC4 also changed the "Chain" object name to "Process" and "Module" object name to "Job". This change caused confusion for the AppWorx Document System users, since the name Job is already in use for the top tier of the documentation. In an effort to keep things simple, the name AppWorx Documentation System has retained its name and the names Chain and Module have also been retained. However, keep in mind that if you access to Applications Manager you will see Processes, not Chains, and Jobs, not Modules.

Production instance: The AppWorx Documentation System does not use single sign-on (NetID): therefore, to access the application, you must log-in with your REPO database user ID.
