Important Catalog Information

Due to the planned consolidation during the summer of 2020, of the University of South Florida, the University of South Florida St. Petersburg, and the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, into a single university with a fully aligned and integrated curriculum and a single set of academic policies and procedures, any undergraduate or graduate student who matriculates at one of the three USF institutions on or after May 18, 2020, will adhere to the curricula, policies, and procedures described in the 2020-21 USF undergraduate or graduate catalog, respectively.

Concentration: Environmental and Occupational Health (Code: EOH)
Delivery: Traditional

Students in the Master of Public Health (MPH) in Environmental and Occupational Health (EOH) concentration gain a broad perspective in the foundational public health sciences, and advanced education in the technical sciences related to the impact of the environment and occupation on human health and well-being.   Students in this concentration will take courses that align to their area of interest, such as environmental health, air pollution, toxicology, occupational health and safety, and human health risk assessment.  Students enrolled in this MPH concentration are likely to be recent graduates of a biological science, environmental science or medicine undergraduate program; employees of county or state agencies; in a military education program; or involved in environmental health & safety management with a company. Our students generally are motivated to earn this advanced degree in order to become an environmental scientist or manager; or to increased competence as an environmental scientist or manager; or as pre-medical training, or to qualify and prepare professional certifications.  Our graduates typically become managers of health, safety and the environmental needs of large and small companies, or community leaders – for example, as U.S. Armed Services or Public Health Service Officers, as State Health Officers, or as Agency or Laboratory Directors.
