The College of Public Health has two primary computer labs designed to serve as both classroom and individual work stations. The teaching classroom (Lab B) has 46 stations plus one instructor’s station.The open-use laboratory (Lab A) has 37 computers for COPH students. Both have tools for developing questionnaires, data collection, data entry, and statistical analysis.

COPH students may access our COPH Virtual Computer Lab client on the web and gain access to all software available in our computer labs.

Within the primary College of Public Health building there are 17 Research Labs that support research in environmental health, industrial hygiene, physiology, water and air quality, immunology, toxicology, parasitology, risk management, ergonomics, heat stress, occupational safety, electron microscopy infectious diseases and microbiology.

 

The COPH Building is open Monday-Thursday 7:30am to 9pm, Friday 7:30am - 5pm, Saturday and Sunday closed. Students may enter the building after hours with their student ID card once the student has requested and received after hours access.

The COPH Open-use computer lab must be accessed at all times with a valid USF student ID card.  The lab is open to students with a valid ID card Monday-Thursday 6am-midnight, Friday 6am-10pm, Saturday and Sunday 7am-10pm. The computer lab may not be accessed outside of these hours.

Other Facilities

 USF HEALTH
  • The WELL building is home to USF Health Student Shared Services and COPH Academic and Student Affairs.  It offers a Student lounge area for all USF Health students with WI-FI connectivity. The WELL is located across the street from Public Health and next to the College of Nursing.
  • The Shimberg Health Sciences Library provides an excellent set of tools for and training opportunities for students doing research. They provide guides to doing research on many topics, available at  http://guides.lib.usf.edu/public_health.  You can contact the Shimberg Health Sciences Library at (813) 974-2243.
  • The USF Health bookstore offers your COPH textbooks, USF Health gear, coffee and snacks, and other supplies. You may also buy, rent, or just see all of your textbooks online. Located at MDC-1050, in the East courtyard. Contact information is: Helen Amburgey, (813) 974-4984.
