This reference guide will help users who have been converted to the CISCO UNITY voice-mail system setup and use the features. Once you have access to the voice-mail system you will be able to access your messages through your phone, Outlook and/or the web using your USF Net ID to login.

Access Voicemail from your Phone

The first time you access the Cisco voicemail system you will be required to set it up. Follow these steps to set your voicemail.

  1. Dial 4-6000.
    Listen to the prompts
  2. Enter your default PIN.
  3. Press the # sign.

Access Voicemail from a Phone Outside of USF

  1. Dial 974-6000.
  2. Press *
  3. Enter your ID (your desk phone number - 813-xxx-xxxx)
  4. Press the # sign.
  5. Enter your PIN
  6. Press the # sign.

Get Messages using Outlook

All your voicemail messages, both old and new, will be accessible through Outlook. Messages will be played as a wave file.

  • All USF Health Account holders will If you use your jdoe@health.usf.edu to login to Netid you will need to email help@usf.edu to ask for a password reset for their Cisco Voicemail Password (https://cuc.itc.usf.edu/inbox/ ).
  • If you do not use your jdoe@healthusfedu to log into Netid then your netid password will be your password for voicemail in outlook and you can skip to step 6
  • The Cisco voicemail password is not the same as the Cisco voicemail pin. Password is for the portal, pin is for the phone.

Once you have received the email confirmation that your password has been reset

  1. Log into https://cuc.itc.usf.edu/inbox/. 
  2. Click the Settings tab.  
  3. Click the Passwords drop-down menu. 
  4. Select Change PIN.
  5. Click Save. See Figure 1

    Once the temporary password is reset, the voicemail inbox can now be synced to outlook. Keep in mind that that login ID will not be a NetID or HSCnet ID, but will be your 5 digit phone extension. Example: 46288@ctc.itc.usf.edu or nberry@ctc.itc.usf.edu and the password you just reset. 

  6. Open the Control Panel. See Figure 2.

  7. Select the Mail folder or User Accounts-Mail. See Figure 2.

  8. Click the E-mail tab. 
  9. Select New. See Figure 3.

  10. Select E-mail Account.
  11. Enter credentials: 
    Your Name: First Last
    E-mail Address: name@cuc.itc.usf.edu (Use the VoiceMail extention (@cuc.itc.usf.edu) for your email).
    Password: The password you set-up for your voicemail at http://vmail.usf.edu. See Figure 4.

  12. Re-enter password and click Next.
    The system will configure the new account. This may take a few moments to complete. 
  13. Once your IMAP e-mail account is successfully configured click Finish. See Figure 5.

  14. You will see your new account configured with your email account in the Account Settings window. See Figure 6.

  15. Click Close.
  16. Your new account will appear in your Outlook pane. See Figure 7.
