Various types of data are included in the USF Data and Analytics (D&A) system – including sensitive data covered by laws/rules such as HIPAA and FERPA. Thus, all computers accessing the system remotely must employ an encrypted connection.

There are two options for remotely accessing USF Data and Analytics (D&A):

  • USF VPN (available to all NetIDs)
    1. Go to http://vpn.usf.edu/
    2. Accept any pop-up messages
    3. Once connected, open a new Internet Explorer 11 Google Chrome tab or new Internet Explorer 11 Google Chrome window to go to the USF Data and Analytics Launch Page
    4. Follow the instructions above for logging in
  • VMWare View Client (only available to accounts which are already authorized to access at least one virtual machine on the Health network)
    1. Access your VMWare View Client as you usually would
    2. From within one of the virtual machines, launch Internet Explorer 11 Google Chrome and go to the USF Data and Analytics Launch Page
