Managing PDFs, Non-Image Files and Hyperlinks
Sometimes other files need to be accessible on web pages. It is recommended to always convert such documents into PDFs to avoid corrupt files.
To add a PDF or make a change to an existing PDF or file:
Open the Rich Text Editor.

Choose a location for the PDF or locate the text of an existing link of a PDF file. Type in the text or change the name of existing PDF/file in the content area and then highlight text:

Click the insert Sitecore Link button:

Click the Media Items tab:

Navigate to Files folder:

Select the file from the File Directory or click Upload to upload a new file:

To upload a new file, click Choose File. Navigate to and select the file you'd like to upload. Then click Upload:

Once your file has been selected and/or uploaded, click Insert:

Click Accept to make the change.

It is best practice to always require a link to open in a new window. |
Highlight the link and then right click. Select Properties.
Click the Target drop down menu and select New Window.

Test Your Work. Always save your work (1), click Preview (2). When returning back to the page, click edit (3) to bring you back into editor mode.
