Managing PDFs, Non-Image Files and Hyperlinks
Sometimes other files need to be accessible on web pages. It is recommended to always convert such documents into PDFs to avoid corrupt filesNote | ||

All Word documents and non-image files should be converted to PDFs. |
To add a PDF or make a change to an existing PDF
or filehyperlink:
Open the Rich Text Editor.

- Click an area inside the Rich Text Editor where you would like a file to be added or locate the text of an existing link
- to a PDF file.
- Type in the text or change the name of the existing PDF/file in the content area

- Highlight the text

Click the insert Sitecore Link button

Navigate to Files folder:

Select the file from the File Directory or click Upload to upload a new file:

NOTE: As a contributor, your permissions will only allow you access to folders that are connected to your web pages. If the upload button is not functional, check to make sure you are in the proper area. |
To upload a new file, click Choose File. Navigate to and select the file you'd like to upload. Then click Upload:

Once your file has been selected and/or uploaded, click Insert:

Click Accept to make the change.

Expand title Sitecore students, click here to expand. Note title For Sitecore Students: Sitecore students that do not have Contributor access yet will need to navigate to the folder called Sitecore Training instead of the Files folder.
1. Click the arrow to expand the Sitecore Training folder.
2. Click the Files folder.

3. Skip Steps 6 and 7 below. Continue on to Step 8.
Click the arrow to expand the Files folder.
Click on your department's folder.

Add a PDF
To add a PDF, choose between:Expand title I would like to add a file already in the Library. (click to expand) 1. Click on the file you would like to add from the Library.
2. Click Insert.

Expand title I would like to upload a new PDF. (click to expand) 1. Click Upload.
2. Click Choose File.
3. Navigate to the file you would like to upload and click Open.
4. Click Upload.

5. Click Save/Close.

Note NOTE: If the upload button is not functional, make sure you have clicked on the folder you have permission to access.
Open Link in a New Window
- Highlight the link and right click.
Select Properties.

- Click the Target drop down menu and select New Window.
Click OK.

- Click Other and then select Preview from the drop-down menu.

- it is opening
