  1. Click an area inside the Rich Text Editor where you would like a file to be added or locate the text of an existing link to a PDF file. 
  2. Type in the text or change the name of the existing PDF/file in the content area. 
  3. Highlight the text.
  4. Click the insert Sitecore Link button.

  5. Click the Media Items tab.

    titleFor Sitecore Students:

    Sitecore students that do not have Contributor access yet will need to navigate to the folder called Sitecore Training instead of the Files folder.

    1. Click the arrow to expand the Sitecore Training folder.

    2. Click the Files folder.

    3. Skip Steps 6 and 7 below. Continue on to Step 8.




  6. Click the arrow to expand the Files folder.

  7. Click on your department's folder.

  8. Add a PDF
    To add a PDF, choose between:

    Expand
    titleI would like to add a file already in the Library. (click to expand)

    1.  Click on the file you would like to add from the Library.

    2. Click Insert.

    titleI would like to upload a new PDF. (click to expand)

    1. Click Upload.

    2. Click Choose File.

    3. Navigate to the file you would like to upload and click Open.

    4. Click Upload.

    5. Click Save/Close.

    6. Click Insert.

    Note

    NOTE: If the upload button is not functional, make sure you have clicked on the folder you have permission to access.



  1. Highlight the link and right click.
  2. Select Properties.

  3. Click the Target drop down menu and select New Window.
  4. Click OK.

  5. Click Save
  6. Click Other and then select Preview from the drop-down menu. 
  7. Test the link to make sure it is opening in a new window. 
  8. Click Edit to bring you back into editor mode. 

Note

Make sure to keep all of your files in an appropriate folder with good naming conventions.
