With the move to MIM as the backbone of the USF IT Identity and Access Management, there will also be a simplified Net ID activation process.

The process will begin in the same manner as previously, on a redesigned UNA page.

The page will reside at the same URL: https://netid.usf.edu/una/

Here one will select "Activate your NetID". The user will be presented with a much simplified page next.

The only information needed is the email address that the client provided in originally corresponding with the University.  For OASIS applicants, this email address is identified as "Primary Email Address" in Oasis.   This can be any email system (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL) but the user MUST still have access to this account.

Enter the email.

The user will be presented with 6 possible NetID choices.

They will select one and then agree to the Acceptable Use Policy.

The user will then create and confirm their NetID password, adhering to the requirements presented.

And they are set. Here they are informed of their chosen NetID, their U# (which they DO NOT need to complete this process, it is presented here for informational purposes.) The user is also informed that it may take up to 1 hour for activation to complete, that is, other USF systems may not be updated to accept this NetID for access for perhaps another hour (the time should be sorter than this but that's a nice round time to inform the user of.)

And that is the simplified NetID activation process.
