Report Description

The USMLE Step1 Predicted Ranges Report report displays the USMLE Step 1 Predicted Range scores for students in two visualizations. The first visualization shows the predicted score range by graduation cohort.  The second visualization compares the predicted scores using Core vs Select.  The report also includes a detail section that shows the student details plus the score range the selected model predicts the student with score in.

Graduation Cohort

Cohort when the student is expected to graduate. Graduation cohorts beginning with an X indicate a student who is not actively in the MD Program. Those with an XLOA cohort are still expected to return to the MD Program.

Core vs Select - Predicted Score

Student counts displayed by Curriculum Program within the Predicted Score Ranges.  This visualization can show how students compare by academic year in a given graduation cohort.

The first range is Under Passing score. Subsequent range groups are 15 points each.

USF ID

Student's U-number used to uniquely identify them.

Attribute

Attribute of a student in USF Health Banner. Usually used for denoting the Core and Select Curriculum Programs, but may also include other legacy values.

Matriculation Term

The effective term of matriculation - the term the student began classes in the MD Program.

Graduation Cohort

Cohort when the student is expected to graduate. Graduation cohorts beginning with an X indicate a student who is not actively in the MD Program. Those with an XLOA cohort are still expected to return to the MD Program.

Counts

Number of students who took the exam within the filtered population.

Step 1 Testing Date

Date in which the student took the USMLE Step 1 exam.

Test Score

Score of the test displayed on this report.

 

 

 

Detailed Score Information

Filters

Graduation Cohort

Cohort when the student is expected to graduate. Graduation cohorts beginning with an X indicate a student who is not actively in the MD Program. Those with an XLOA cohort are still expected to return to the MD Program.

Matriculation Term

The effective term of matriculation - the term the student began classes in the MD Program.

Step 1 Testing Year

Calendar year in which the student took the USMLE Step 1 exam.

SLCT or CORE

Curriculum Program taken by a Morsani College of Medicine MD student. All students before the SELECT program started are classified as Other. Select between CORE, SLCT, or Other.

Step 1 Testing Date

Date in which the student took the USMLE Step 1 exam. Select a date range to show Students that took the exam in that span of time.

Test Score

Score of the test displayed on this report. Select a test score range to show Students with test scores in that range.

Current 5 Year or Greater

Allows easy selection of multiple years at once. Available options are Current 5 Years or 10 Years. Current 5 Years is selected when you first open the report.

 

Visualizations

Score Range by Testing Year - First Time Test Taken

Each bar represents all students who took the test in a given year and displays the distribution of their exam scores by ranges. Each range is stacked on top of one another, with the lowest scores at the bottom and higher scores near the top. This visualization allows you to see the trends of student scores across testing years.

The first range is Under Passing score, which allows you to compare the numbers even across testing years where the Passing Score changed. Subsequent range groups are 15 points each.

This visualization allows you to drill down to Core vs Select and display with the stacked bars.

Core vs Select - First Time Test Taken

Student counts displayed by Curriculum Program within the Score Ranges.

This visualization allows you to drill down to Testing Year and display with the Core vs Select bars.

Score Range by Matriculation Term - First Time Test Taken

Each bar represents all students from a Matriculation Term and displays the distribution of their exam scores by ranges. Each range is stacked on top of one another, with the lowest scores at the bottom and higher scores near the top. This visualization allows you to see the trends of student scores across matriculation term.

The first range is Under Passing score, which allows you to compare the numbers even across matriculation terms where the Passing Score changed. Subsequent range groups are 15 points each.

This visualization allows you to drill down to Core vs Select and display with the stacked bars.

Interactivity

You can select multiple bars (Ctrl + Click) on the Core vs Select visualization to adjust highlights on the other visualizations. This allows you to see the portion of students from that Academic Program trending across the Graduation Cohort or Matriculation Terms.

Students by CBSE Pass/Fail and Attribute

Displays the count of students who have not taken the Step 1 Exam, displayed by their CBSE Test status. Each bar stacks the students within the Core and Select MD Programs.

Student's pass/fail status as available in Health Banner for the BMS 6043 Medical Sciences 7 course.


Data Refreshed On

Data in this report is not live, but refreshed once daily. The date on the bottom right of the report displays the last day the data was refreshed from USF Health Banner.
