Overview

The following is instructions on how to reset your desktop or laptop Windows devices to the Out Of Box (OOB)/Factory Settings. 

This processes is needed in cases such as improper or incomplete setup.

Data Backup

If you have been using your device before having to perform this, make sure you backup any data you will need. This process WILL erase all data on the device.

  1. Select the Windows Start icon located at the lower left of the toolbar.


  2. Type Reset this PC. Select Open.


  3. Select Get Started.


  4. Select Remove everything.

    REMINDER

    This process WILL erase all data from the computer. If you have anything you want to backup and save, do it before proceeding.



  5. Select Cloud download.


  6. Select Next.


  7. Select Reset.
  8. A download will start. This can take a few moments depending on internet speeds.


  9. Once the download is completed, a restart will occur.


  10. Once the process has been completed successfully, you will see the following image.  From this point, you can now perform the steps located on Setting Up Your New Desktop Computer or Setting Up Your New Laptop Computer (depending on which type of device you have).

    If you receive the following image, please contact the Service Desk for further assistance. This means that there could be an issue that might need to be addressed further:


    You can select  Turn off your PC and restart it and the computer should go turn on as if the previous steps have not been done. This way you will be able to work without issues until the issue is resolved.
