This is SUDS process where customers can modify the degree mapping input file (SUDS_InputDegree.xls) , and there is an additional output file (SUDS_OutputDegree.csv) of degrees not mapped.

The share \\hscetl\SUDS has been created and has the following 2 files available.  The AD group IT BIA HSCETL SUDS Share-Modify has permissions to view and modify files in the share.SUDS_InputDegree.xls has the mapping of Banner degree to SUDS Value.  If a new degree shows up in Banner that is not mapped to an equivalent SUDS degree it will show up in the Health Banner Applicant Data Quality in the list of Degree Not Mapped for SUDS on the Highest Degree tab.  To map a new degree to suds open the SUDS_InputDegree.xls file and add a new row that has the Banner Degree, the SUDS mapping, the Banner Description and the SUDS description.  Make sure to close out of the excel file when finished.

SUDS_OutputDegree.csv has list of all banner degrees with a missing SUDS Value.  This file is supplementary to the Health Banner Applicant Data Quality in the list of Degree Not Mapped for SUDS on the Highest Degree tab, but shows only the degrees that are unmapped.

    • Loading Area - Folder where the data files need to be placed for loading.
    • Required File Format -

Rules for Data

  1. Must have a Banner Degree for each record.
  2. Must have a valid SUDS Value for every Banner Degree.

New Degree Update Process

Follow these steps to provide a new Degree mapping :

  1. Go to the folder location.
  2.  Open the SUDS_InputDegree.xls  file.
  3. Add new row that has banner degree,suds mapping  ,banner description,suds description  at the end of the file .
  4. The file should be  saved. 
  5. Make sure to close out of the excel file when finished. 

It is important that the Excel files be closed and is not open for editing before the load process begins. When the data load begins if the file is open then the process will error out. The load is expected to happen .
