Documenting your Teaching Experience

Documentation of the Teaching Experience:

Students will be required to document service using the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine Teaching Log. A “quality teaching” log details the preparation done prior to teaching, articulate the benefits of the education rendered and connect teaching to professional and personal development.

Please describe the teaching in detail, including:

  1. Preparation done prior to delivery of teaching (see description above of teaching preparation);
    1. What you did, where you taught, and who you taught (target audience);
    2. Any other pertinent details which will convey a clear picture of this project.
  2. Please share your impressions of each teaching project and reflect upon any of the following:
    1. How you feel that you made a positive impact;
    2. What you learned about the community you served and their education needs;
    3. How this project ‘builds upon’ what you are learning in your academic program;
    4. How this project changed your perceptions about health care or medical education;
    5. How this project introduced  you to new career possibilities;
    6. Other ways in which you feel that this experience has enriched your learning experience and professional development.

Once completed, logs will be uploaded to the ePortfolio System (portfolios.health.usf.edu
