Refresh schedule:  Data is refreshed at Drop/Add, Preliminary, and Final Benchmarks for the Fall semester and after Retention is submitted at the end of Jan. Also after Degrees are submitted each semester. The “Data Refreshedfield on the top right of the page indicates when the data was extracted from sources.

Report pages

USF Retention & Graduation Rates Homepage: Homepage displays One USF FTIC Cohort 1-Year Retention, Academic Progress (Retention with a 2.0 GPA or higher), 4-Year Graduation, and 6 Year Graduation.  

Filters Included: Full-Time Indicator, Gender, Ethnicity (IPEDS), Non-white (excludes Non-Resident Alien and Not-Reported Ethnicity), Under-Represented, Pell, STEM Indicator and First Generation.

Campus Retention & Graduation Rates Homepage: Homepage displays Campus FTIC Cohort 1-Year Retention, Academic Progress (Retention with a 2.0 GPA or higher), 4-Year Graduation, and 6 Year Graduation. 

Filters Included: Campus, Full-Time Indicator, Gender, Ethnicity (IPEDS), Non-white (excludes Non-Resident Alien and Not-Reported Ethnicity), Under-Represented, Pell, STEM Indicator and First Generation.

  • By Gender – This page displays the Total FTIC Student Population, Male FTIC Population and Female FTIC Population. Filters Included: USF view (Full-Time indicator)/ Campus view (Campus, Full-Time)
  • By Ethnicity – This page displays All Ethnicities, Asian, Hispanic, White, Black and Other Student population. USF view (Full-Time indicator)/ Campus view (Campus, Full-Time)

CAMPUS

SID Enrollments

The various campuses of the University of South Florida: Tampa (USFT), Sarasota-Manatee (USFSM), St. Petersburg (USFSP).

COLLEGESID Enrollments

College is based on Global College crosswalk post consolidation in 2020. This is the starting college of the student.

FULL-TIME

SID Enrollments

An indicator based on the number of credit hours attempted (not earned) during their first fall term. A student entering in the fall and taking 12 or more credit hours will remain in the full‐time category regardless of the number of credits taken in subsequent terms.

GENDER.

SID Enrollments

An indicator that identifies the person by female or male classification.

ETHNIC

SID Enrollments

Categories align with Federal IPEDS definitions of Ethnicity - 1. American Indian 2. Asian, 3. Black 4. Hispanic 5. Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander 6. White 7. Two or More Races 8. Non-Resident Alien 9. Not Reported.

NON-WHITE

SID Enrollments

An indicator based on ethnicities identified as American-Indian, Asian, Black, Hispanic, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, Two or More Races.

UNDERREPRESENTED

SID Enrollments

An indicator based on racial and ethnic populations that are disproportionately represented in higher education. Students identified as Black, Hispanic ethnicities and Federal PELL grant recipients were classified as underrepresented.

PELL

SID Financial Aid

Federal Pell Grants usually are awarded only to undergraduate degree-seeking students who display exceptional financial need and have not earned a bachelor's, graduate, or professional degree.

STEM MAJOR

SID CIP Groups

FIRST GENERATION

Banner Financial Aid

An indicator for in-state, degree-seeking students taking at least 6 credit hours and that completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) that determined the student to be needy and indicated on the FAFSA that both parents have not completed any higher education degree. Students who did not report First Generation Status or did not fill FAFSA default to 'N' value.

Filter Panels

Filters are listed on top or on side panel of the report.

Notes:

  • Click the down arrow to select from options in the filters and narrow down your results. 
  • To deselect an item, click on the option again. 
  • The filters allow multiple selections. To select multiple values in a filter, hold the Ctrl key as you check the square boxes .
  • Filters for the report may not have Blank as an option. 

Data Panel

Data panel displays the filtered results. To work with data in this panel:

  • Select an individual row in the table to highlight the item/row. Select it again to return to the full table view.
  • You can sort the data by column values, if the sorting is available for that column. Hover your mouse over the last row item in the column header and if a small black triangle appears Black Triangle PNG, Free HD Black Triangle Transparent Image - PNGkit ,  you can sort that column in ascending or descending order by clicking on your mouse. 


Options for the Data Panel

Export Data to Excel

To export the data results to Excel, hover your mouse over the upper right hand side corner of the data table and a horizontal menu bar   will pop up. Click the  in the top right corner. 

A dropdown menu will appear with 'Export data' as one of the options.  Select Export Data to work with the data in Excel.

Note: The exported data in Excel may not look exactly like the screen.

Focus Mode

To see the data in Focus Mode, hover your mouse over the upper right hand side corner of the data table and a horizontal menu bar  will pop up. Click the option for Focus Mode   It allows the visual to take the entire space in the report canvas. Full screen mode will persist until you exit out or click on   the top left hand side.
When in Focus Mode, click the   in the top right corner and a drop down menu will appear with the following options:

You can export data, or see the data in a table by selecting the appropriate option.  

Spotlight

Spotlight causes all other visuals on the page to fade so the selected visual is highlighted. To highlight a visual, click on more action  and select 

Drill Up and Drill Down

If the visual has the hierarchy, the  menu will appear when you hover on the top left side of the visual.  Turn on drill down first by selecting the downward arrow. The grey background  lets you know that drill down is active. Selecting  will expand another level of hierarchy. Selecting the double arrow  drill-down icon takes you to the next level in the hierarchy.  Selecting  will take you one level up in hierarchy.  The arrows will be greyed out if the option is not available. 


Reset to Default


If you have made any changes, such as implementing filters or sorting the table, you have the ability to return the sorting and filtering to the report creator's default view. Click the Reset to Default image above the report in the Report Header:
