Overview

This article contains information to guide you through allowing Java to access BANNER ALUM via Internet Explorer.


  • You will need to be using Internet Explorer when attempting to access BANNER ALUM
  • Your version of Java should be the 32-bit version of Java Version 8 Update 45 (build 1.8.0_45)

Before beginning, please ensure that you are using Java version 8.45 or earlier. To locate which version of Java you have, open the Start menu and search for About Java. If you have a version of Java which came out after 8.45, please click here to download Java 8.45.

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Click All Programs.
  3. Open the Java folder and click Configure Java.
  4. Select the Security tab.
  5. Ensure the Enable Java content in the browser box is Checked.
  6. Click Edit Site List...
  7. Click Add.
  8. Enter: https://alumnibanner.fastmail.usf.edu/inb/alum
  9. Click Add.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Select the Advanced tab.
  12. Scroll to the Advanced Security Setting section. Ensure that Use SSL 2.0 compatible ClientHello format is checked.



  13. Click OK.

You should now be able to access BANNER ALUM by visiting https://alumnibanner.fastmail.usf.edu/inb/alum within Internet Explorer.
