Saving Bookmarks in Edge

Overview

This article shows how to export your bookmarks to a file that is used to import them to a different computer.

Exporting Your Bookmarks to an HTML File

  1. Open Edge and select the star icon located in the top right corner, select ... and then select Export favorites.

     
  2. Enter a name you wish the file to be called, then select Save.

     

If you did not save the file directly to a flash drive remember to locate the file in file explorer and save the file to an external drive so you can access it to load your bookmarks into Edge.

Import Your Bookmarks Into Edge Using the HTML File

  1. Open Edge and select the star icon located in the top right corner, select ... and then select Import favorites.


  2. Under Import from another browser, select Chose what to import.

     
  3. From the drop-down, select Favorites or bookmarks HTML file.

     
  4. Select Chose file..


  5. Locate the HTML file you save and select Open.


  6. Once complete, select Done.

Your bookmarks should now be available in Edge.
