Links in Sitecore

Links

Sitecore provides more powerful ways to link than just copy/pasting a URL. These can be found in all of our components.

Use the Insert Link button when linking to pages within your Sitecore website. This creates a strong database link to internal pages that will automatically update itself if the linked page is ever moved or renamed.

  • Click the Insert Link button.

  • The Internal Link window will open.

  • Use the content tree on the left side of the window to find and select the page you want to link to.

  • Click the OK button.

Use the Insert Media Link button when linking to files within the Sitecore Media Library. This creates a strong database link to the file’s Media Library item that will automatically update itself if the linked item is ever moved or renamed.

  • Click the Insert Media Link button.

  • The Insert Media Link window will open with Sitecore’s Media Library content tree.

  • Find and select the image or file you want to link to.

  • Click the blue Insert button.

Use the Insert External Link button when linking to pages outside of Sitecore.

  • Click the Insert External Link button.

  • The Insert External Link window will open.

  • Click in the second field titled URL and type or paste in the web address you want to link to.

  • Click the blue Insert button.
