Report : Honors_Advisor Detail

The Honors Advisor Detail report shows the advisor efforts and details in working with active Honors College students (those with status of H%A and H%P). The report displays in two tabs. Tab 1, Advisor Details, shows the requirements completion percentage of all the advisors' active students. Tab 2, Advisor Details-All Appointments provides details on all appointments made by the active students with any advisor.

Tab 1: Advisor Detail

The Advisor Detail tab displays a dashboard with metrics on advisor appointments for active Honors College students. The displays can be filtered using the fields at the top of the display to show details by cohort, campus, college, department, and student major.

The top visual in the dashboard shows the progress of the advisors' students in fulfilling the course requirements of Community Engagement, Global Requirements, and Course Requirements. The visuals include the percentage completion as well as a count of students who have completed the requirement. Overall completion of all requirements display in the Advised Students Completion % progress chart.

The bottom visual in the dashboard shows the Advisor Caseload by academic term in bar charts. Each of the term visuals can be drilled down; that is, by clicking the down arrows in the visual , you can view how appointments are distributed among advisors over the terms shown. Further, if you select a specific term, such as Fall 2019, you can drill down to see how appointments are distributed among advisors for that particular term. Note that the progress charts above adjust to show data for the selected term. Click the up arrow to return to the full display.

The Student Profile table at the bottom of this report lists the students matching the selected filters, such as a particular advisor, college, or term. Click the link icon in the table to view a full profile of the student.

The Honors Graduation report provides graduation details of the Honors College students (those with a status of H%). It provides 4-year, 6-year, and greater than 6-year graduation rates for the cohorts graduating with the honors degree, as well as for those who started at Honors College but graduated from USF without completing the Honors College requirements. Note that the "Graduated at USF" numbers in this report are completely different and will not match numbers reported by the institution for state and federal reporting. This report uses Honors College cohorts, which include FTIC and transfer students, both full-time and part-time.

The report displays in two tabs: Graduation Rate Details and Graduation Rate Trends.

Tab 1: Graduation Rate Details

Report : Honors_Attrition

The Honors Attrition report provides details on attrition rates in the Honors College broken down by college and department. It provides details on how many honors courses that students complete before they leave the program, the length of time taken to complete those courses, and the reasons for leaving the program.  It includes students who have been dismissed or left the program (those with status of H%D and H%L).  It does count students with 0 credits in IDH courses.

There are three visuals and a table on this page that can provide insight into students who have left the Honors College:

  • Attrition Breakdown shows the attrition by college. You can select the down arrow in the visual  to drill down to department and major. Additionally, you can select a bar in the visual, e.g., Business, and the other charts adjust to show data for that area of study. Select the bar again to return to the full display.
  • Student # by Courses Taken shows the count of students by the number of courses they have taken in the Honors College curriculum. You can select a bar slice in the display to adjust the other visuals in the report.
  • Length of Time Taking Courses is a pie chart showing the length of time taken to complete the courses taken.
  • Reason for Leaving is a table showing comments from students who have left the program stating their reasons for leaving the program.

In the filter to the left, you can select a student USFID. which can help identify students who need to be deleted from Honors College records. If a student has taken no IDH courses, then he or she should not be considered an Honors College student at all, and can be deleted from the database, not just marked as leaving the program.
