Report Description

The USMLE Step 1 Scores Summary report displays the average first attempt scores by students in a given calendar year, matriculation term, and graduation cohort. Also displayed is the progress toward completion within the given population, with details explaining why a student may be delayed in taking the Step 1 test.

 

Filters

Year

Choosing a year from this filter will display information for students expected to take the USMLE Step 1 in that calendar year, as well as the corresponding Matriculation Term and Graduation Cohort. Most students taking the USMLE in that calendar year are expected to be from the matriculation term and graduation cohort displayed.


Summary

Average Test Score

Average Scores for the student's first attempt reported by Total and Core/SELECT Programs.

Graduation Cohort

Cohort when the student is expected to graduate. Graduation cohorts beginning with an X indicate a student who is not actively in the MD Program. Those with an XLOA cohort are still expected to return to the MD Program.

Graduation Cohort Scores Reported Visualization

Displays the number of students that took the USMLE Step1 exam in the specified Graduation Cohort out of the number of students that are anticipated to take the USMLE Step1 exam. The number who have taken the exam is displayed directly below the visualization.

Matriculation Term

The effective term of matriculation - the term the student began classes in the MD Program.

Matriculation Term Scores Reported Visualization

Displays the number of students  that took the USMLE Step1 exam out of the number of students in the specified Matriculation Term that are anticipated to take the USMLE Step1 exam. The number who have taken the exam is displayed directly below the visualization.

Report Population

All the data comes from the primary source of Health Banner. The current data set selects all students that have taken the test within the past 10 Years.

Testing Year Scores Reported Visualization

Displays the number of students that took the USMLE Step1 exam in the specified calendar year out of the number of students anticipated to take the USMLE Step 1 exam. Students who either passed a CBSE exam offering or Course 7 in the specified year are anticipated to take the exam. The number who have taken the exam is displayed directly below the visualization.

Students Not Taken Test - Testing Year

Graduation Cohort of students missing the USMLE Step 1 exam who were expected to take it in the displayed Testing Year. Students are separated by their curriculum program: Core or Select

Students Not Taken Test - Matriculation Term

Graduation Cohort of students missing the USMLE Step 1 exam who were expected to take it from the displayed Matriculation Term. Students are separated by their curriculum program: Core or Select

Students Not Taken Test in Graduation Cohort

Course 7/CBSE Passed status of students missing the USMLE Step 1 exam who were expected to take it from the displayed cohort. Students are separated by their curriculum program: Core or Select

Testing Year

Year in which the student took the USMLE Step 1 exam.
